Our Story

So you ask, why did we open Soki Sushi Train? Or more importantly, why in Queenstown?

Well, this is our story: The founder of Soki Sushi Train has 2 kids, a son and a daughter. One year, the family, for the first time ever, they went to Japan, Tokyo. They were looking at different restaurants, deciding which one to go to. None of them seemed suitable, until they saw a sign which read: ‘SUSHI TRAIN’. The kids were excited, begging to go there and eat. So, they went. In short, it was wonderful. The food was amazing, the staff was friendly, and the conveyor belt was particularly awesome. But the best thing of all, was the train. It was so much fun, ordering on tablets and kids giggling as the train rushed toward them with delicious food and drinks. After the family left, the next day, the kids were once again pleading to eat at the sushi train. The parents finally gave in, going again and trying out new foods they didn’t eat the night before. “Can we go there every day?” they asked. Why not open our own? The dad thought. So he did. It took a few years, getting everything ready and hiring new staff but at last, it opened. In fact, Soki Sushi Train is still growing and learning, so watch out for new dishes and upgrades to the restaurant!

Memories of these places are lasting and happy, and we hope you can experience the wonders of a sushi train restaurant without going to Japan, right here at home.
